This is a really common thing, I find, in Tumblr.

We have had a similar question and this is my advice to you; identify the triggers. Once you’ve done so, then you can avoid those and maybe even get rid of them.

Next, you could try and find a distraction. Avoid sad subjects and make sure you are surrounded by things that make you happy.

These are just suggestions, they might not work on you. Everyone is different and thus work in various different ways.

Well what you have to do is, like Elle says, test the waters. Try to see if he might like you back. Also give a thought to if it’s just a short time spark, or if it is actually really strong feelings. It might just be hormones, or it might not. That’s for you to decide. Ultimately ask yourself if it’s worth it, do you really like him that much.

Yes, it could. However, you can’t be sure. Take it slow and wait for a while. If you like him back, show some signs so that he doesn’t feel like it’s all for nothing. If he does like you, he’ll tell you soon enough. (Assuming you like him too and give some huge hints)

Dear Anon,

First of all, try starting small. Increase the volume of your voice, even if it’s just a little bit. Be brave and show them you’re not intimidated at all. It’ll make them notice you. 

Also, be confident. Chin up and just go right up to them and say hi. Then you can just walk away if you want. As long as they know you talk, then that should be enough. No more of that ‘doesn’t talk’ myth.
