I've been under a lot of stress lately. I try to hide it, and I do it quite well, but I have a new way of helping to hide my stress, worry and sadness. I have begun to pull out my hair. I may pull out quite a bit or I'll just sub-consciously pull strands. I have always pulled out my eyebrows and lashes, but never my hair on my head before. It does hurt quite a bit, but I have very long, thick hair so you can't see where I have pulled. I just needed to admit what I was doing, I'm sorry.

Try to fiddle with things rather than your hair. There are special stress balls that you squeeze instead of doing something harmful out of stress. Don’t feel sorry, what are we here for?

If you can’t get a stress ball, get a worry stone. It’s just a normal rock that you find anywhere. Just rub it or grip it really tight if you’re stressed/worried. My teacher from Grade 5 taught me this and it really helped me.

Never feel sorry for needing to unload. This is what we’re here for!

Sincerely,

Elle.
